It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Join APT DC at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville for our Holiday Party and Annual Member Meeting.

First, the serious stuff. Our slate of candidates for next year was emailed to you on 11/14. Please read the bios and prepare to give your yay or nay. Our current President, Caitlin Smith, will also bring all the membership up to speed on the many successes of this past year.

Now, the fun stuff! We will have delicious food for everyone, wine and beer for guests over 21. Of course, our event is open to the whole family. APT DC members get free admission. Guests 12+ are just $10. Kids under 12 are free!

Our venue, if you don't know, is a former movie theater rehabilitated in 2016 and home to Pyramid Atlantic's artists studios and Maryland Milestones, another non-profit. The gallery space is two stories tall with some interesting ghost marks to check out. Free parking is available next door at the Police Department, and paid parking is available next to Franklin's just across Baltimore Ave from the venue. The gallery entrance is at the rear of the building and, while the parking there may be tempting, it does not belong to the venue and we've been warned they love to come ticket or tow!

Every year the highlight of our Holiday Party is the Silent Auction. All of the proceeds from this auction go towards funding our chapter's Emerging Professional Scholarship Program. This program provides scholarships for young professionals in our community to travel to and attend the APTI or PTN conference. We have some awesome auction items already...

Cesca Chairs from API.

(4) Breuer Cesca Chairs rescued 1939 New York Exposition Salt & Pepper Shaker with booklet.(with permission) from the American Press Institute building prior to its demolition.

1939 New York Exposition Salt and Pepper shaker with booklet showing the original structures.

Lost America pristine original two volume set of books.

Park and Recreation Structures Brand-new Hardcover still in it's plastic wrapping.

And we have room for much more! In the past, members have donated a wide array of items, including sports tickets, concert subscriptions, food baskets, photo shoots, gift cards, tour tickets, architecture books, antique building supplies, etc. Some folks have even donated personal services, like offering to supply an office with a monthly box of homemade cookies or give an art lesson.  These are just a few suggestions that we hope will inspire you!  We want to collect all donations by Monday, December 4. Please contact info@aptdc.org if you are interested.

We really appreciate your assistance in making this auction a success! Our Emerging Professionals Scholarship Program is one of our key chapter goals, and the young professionals we send to APTI and PTN are always so grateful for our support.
