Join us on Tuesday, November 19th from 6:30-8:30 PM for the latest in our Preservation Pioneers series with David Wright, FAIA, Principal Emeritus of GWWO, Inc./Architects! Mr. Wright will give a lecture entitled "Historic American Forts: A Visual Cultural History Discussing a Few Masonry Challenges," and following, we'll interview Mr. Wright about his life and career. As always, we'll engage the audience during a moderated question and answer session, so come prepared with questions! The evening will begin with a half hour of light refreshments and mingling, and the lecture will begin promptly at 7PM.

About our speaker:

David Wright has dedicated his career to preserving and reinvigorating historic buildings of national significance. His work has received the State of Maryland’s highest award for historic preservation, as well as numerous regional and local awards. In 2011, the American Institute of Architects recognized David’s preservation talents by elevating him to the College of Fellows.

David holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. An accomplished author, his published works include several works on Maryland’s cast iron architecture, a history of McKim Mead & White’s involvement with the original Goucher College campus in midtown Baltimore, a catalogue of etchings by R. Swain Gifford, and a two-volume set about the work of artist-etcher Peter Moran, which received the Ewell L. Newman award. He previously served as a director of the American Historical Print Collectors Society and currently serves on the Publication Committee.
