The Taylor House - Virginia Hamrick©️

Join us as Susan Reed, AIA, the director of historic preservation at Glave & Holmes Architecture in Richmond, gives a guided tour of the restoration project for the Taylor House on Monument Avenue. The 12,244 sf stucco-clad Mediterranean villa was designed in 1914 by Richmond architect Duncan Lee for Jaqueline P. Taylor and is a contributing resource to the Monument Avenue National Register Historic District.

In 2022, Glavé & Holmes Architecture was hired to provide professional historic restoration and rehabilitation design services for the overall preservation of the house, as well as alterations to the first and second floors of the west service wing.  Base building work and the Kitchen Wing were completed in time for the house to be used as the 2023 Richmond Symphony Designer House.

Networking before the event will begin at 10:30 AM with coffee and pastries. The tour will start at 11:00 AM. Free parking is available on city streets around the house. If you need a ride to Richmond or are willing to have others ride with you, please note on the registration form. 1.5 AIA LU/HSW has been requested.
